Among the ruins of a shattered Poland, full of drunkards and outcasts, the young writer Marek Hlasko (1934-1969) observes and describes the individualism and the despair of the suburbs. Meanwhile a young couple, Piotr and Agnieszka, live their love story in the shadow of the oppressive socialist regime. Through the keen eye of the “Polish James Dean” – the resemblance to the actor was astonishing – a decadent fresco comes to life, spangled with smoky taverns, alcohol and violence. An inconvenience for his country (his works were banned for twenty years), Hlasko leads a wandering life and he will be able to cunningly create his myth: a former truck driver, a writer on the run from France to Italy then a pimp in Tel Aviv and a screenwriter with Roman Polanski in Hollywood, until his tragic and premature end in West Germany. *Valerio Gaglione*Born in 1989, Gaglione received his PhD in Engraving and Illustration from the Academy of Fine Arts of Genoa. His artistic career began as a singer and guitarist, performing in Italy and abroad. At present he’s devoting himself to art therapy projects, comics and painting. *Fabio Izzo* Born in 1977, lives in Acqui Terme, Italy. Polonist, wrote for the theater and some of his poems were published in England and United States. His last book, *To Jest*, was nominated for Strega Prize 2014 and earned the XXXI Literary Prize of Cava de’ Tirreni. Visionary, dark, subtly ironic. The dazzling beginning of one of the new representatives of Italian comics.
