Annual Report 2017 Is Released Today
Dear colleagues and friends,
 
We are delighted to announce that the ZEW Annual Report 2017 is available as of today. Through this publication we aim to keep you informed about the research being conducted at our institute, as well as about events and conferences and other recent developments at ZEW.
 
The year 2017 was certainly an eventful one for ZEW – a particular highlight being that our institute successfully made the case for a strategic expansion into a competence centre for market and institutional design from the year 2019.

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim

ZEW works in the field of cutting-edge empirical research in economics. The institute especially distinguished itself by working on internationally comparative studies in the context of Europe and by creating important scientific data bases, e.g. the Mannheim Innovation Panel (MIP) and the ZEW Start-up Panel. ZEW’s key objectives are to conduct excellent economic research, provide science-based economic policy advice and transfer knowledge. ZEW was founded in 1991. ZEW currently has a staff of approximately 170 employees, two thirds of whom are researchers. ZEW is a member of the Leibniz Association.
