The EXPO2 Export Programme's FInal Event in Rome
The EXPO2 Export Acceleration Program came to an end on May 26th, when a final workshop event was held in Rome, that saw the participation of the programme’s SMEs and speakers from international financial players and consultants.
On May 24th, INSME hosted the webinar “Social Commerce and Distribution Channels in China”, which explained the main aspects of a distribution strategy in the Chinese market and how to sell international products within China.

The Africa IP SME Helpdesk is a first-line intellectual property (IP) service providing free-of-charge support for European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to facilitate them to handle transnational business in Africa.

Mapping Innovation Support Organizations (ISOs) in Mediterranean Innovation Partnership (MIP) countries
Participate in the survey which aims at gathering and analysing the information relative to the innovation strategies implemented by local ecosystem enablers within the realms of innovation and entrepreneurship. Within this framework, CIHEAM Bari in collaboration with BUSINESSMED (Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises) and INSME (International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises), are engaged in the creation of the Mediterranean Observatory on Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystems.

Knowledge Network Partnership for Local Leaders
Projects under the Call will establish thematic communities/centres of expertise that will generate, promote, test, exchange and disseminate knowledge, skills, expertise, innovation, and scientific evidence in support of the Capacity-Development and Science Pillars of the Knowledge Network. The thematic communities will bring together individuals (practitioners, researchers and experts) from institutions (national and local civil protection authorities, research centres, policy institutes, centres of excellence etc.) engaged in disaster prevention, preparedness and response.

Greening Financial Systems Technical Assistance Programme
The contracting authority intends to select a programme manager to coordinate the Greening Financial Systems (GFS) programme. The overall objective of the GFS programme is to promote net zero and climate-resilient financial systems that ultimately will support the private sector in deploying climate-related and environmentally sustainable investments. This will be done by providing capacity building and support to central banks and supervisors introducing best lending practices related to green financing in terms of procedures, processes and products available to financial intermediaries.

Sharing of Good Practices on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management between EU And Asian Countries
The action intends to reinforce global climate change mitigation effort by supporting developing countries’ experts work on national and sectoral Green Houses Gas (GHG) emissions modelling, strengthen capacity building for GHG emissions modelling and exchange of best practices and know-how between leading EU and Asian modellers (including China and India), working closely with the respective government.

The European Innovation Council Accelerator Open Call
The EIC Accelerator supports companies (principally SMEs, and including start-ups) to scale up high impact innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones, through Business Acceleration Services and funding ranging from EUR 0.5 to EUR 17.5 million. Funding and support from the EIC Accelerator are designed to enable such innovators to attract the full investment amounts needed for scale up in a shorter timeframe, focusing in particular on innovations, building on scientific discovery or technological breakthrough. The EIC Accelerator supports the later stages of technology development as well as scaleups, which means that the technology component of the innovation must therefore have been tested and validated in a laboratory or other relevant environment.

Applications for the EU Prize for Women Innovators 2022 call
The EU Prize for Women Innovators is funded under Horizon Europe, the EU research and innovation programme. The EIC will award three prizes of €100,000 each to the most inspiring women innovators across the EU and Associated Countries, including Ukraine. To mark the European Year of Youth, the EIC will be awarding a further three prizes of €50 000 each to promising ‘Rising Innovators’ under the age of 35. The prize is managed by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency, and the winners will be chosen by an independent and expert jury.

Engaging stakeholders through EIC portfolios
The activities will be implemented with a mix of real/virtual/hybrid formats, as appropriate, and should all result in concrete material that demonstrates the added value of the EIC portfolio construct as ‘being more than the sum of its parts’, in particular by producing high-quality reports or mixed-media material, testimonials, case studies and aggregated information and knowledge, making the portfolio’s subject matter intelligible and stimulating for others while also providing a basis to strengthen the outcomes and impacts from portfolio activities overall. The proposers are expected to demonstrate strong familiarity with deep-tech research and innovation, a proven capacity to credibly engage with EIC communities, and a track record in creative approaches with high-quality outputs.

European Innovation Council launches the Scale up 100 call
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has launched the EIC Scale-Up 100 call (coordination and support action), with the goal to identify, promote, and support the growth of 100 promising deep tech companies that show the potential to become ‘unicorns’ (with a value of over €1 billion). The winning entity or consortia will receive European Commission’s funding to help companies develop their corporate and leadership strategies, reach strategic investors and partners, expand internationally and obtain access to other scale-up support programmes.

Ideas Powered for business SME Fund
Grant scheme designed to support the intellectual property (IP) rights of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the EU. The SME Fund is an initiative of the European Commission implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
