1) 8th ZEW/MaCCI Conference on the Economics of Innovation and Patenting taking place in Mannheim, May 16-17, 2019   

The conference aims to present new theoretical and empirical research from all areas of the economics of innovation and patenting and to stimulate discussion between international researchers.

It is a great pleasure for us to welcome DIETMAR HARHOFF (Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and LMU, Munich) and TIMOTHY SIMCOE (Boston University and NBER) as keynote speakers as well as DIRK CZARNITZKI (KU LEUVEN) and GIANCARLO SPAGNOLO (Stockholm School of Economics) for an invited session on innovative public procurement.

The call for papers for the conference is attached to this e-mail. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts or full papers is February 15, 2019.

2) CISS Competition and Innovation Summer School 2019, Ulcinj (Montenegro), May 27–31, 2019

This summer school offers young researchers in the fields of innovation and competition economics the opportunity to discuss their dissertation projects in great detail within a group of experienced and renowned scholars, as well as other PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, in an inspiring environment.

The call for papers for the summer school is also attached to this e-mail. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts or full papers is February 28, 2019.
