Dear Jeanette

I’m pleased to provide you with updates on this years’ Associations World Congress & Expo (15-17 April, Cascais). There are educational sessions for everyone as well as plenty of social events too. PLUS dedicated forums for leaders and event strategists.

See the full programme here >>

What's on?

On Wednesday, 15 April, there is an optional pre-congress day which includes a full-day medical meeting and four high-level workshops.

The medical meeting will cover topics such as sponsorship; medical association education; advocacy and campaigning; and public outreach.  More information on the Pre-Congress Medical Association day here >>

The four high-level training workshops will cover how to use data to engage your members; project and budget management; event sustainability; and how to bridge the generational communication gap. More information on the workshops here >>

Attend the main congress on 16-17 April to learn about and share successes. Move fluidly between all 63 sessions over the two days to ensure you can reap the rewards of meeting like-minded professionals to discuss core challenges.

Benefits of attending:
  • Learn how to design and implement a governance framework for a modern association
  • Hear thought-provoking issues on the purpose of events, their value and the place of association events in the association's offering
  • Understand the value of your association's content and how this can be effectively commercialised
  • Analyse the social, cultural and technological changes that are disrupting events and whether and how to embrace them
  • Discover the most successful solutions to communicating effectively with a geographically and culturally diverse membership
  • Learn about developing an effective membership model with existing members, through content, communication and conversation
  • Gain an appreciation of the value of content as an exclusive benefit and opportunity for greater member engagement

Don’t just take our word for it about the benefits of attending….here are just some of the positive and inspiring quotations from association executives who have attended the congress previously:

"Highly recommend this Congress to those who want to learn new ideas and how to further develop their own organisation."
International Association of Public Transport

One of the best professional meetings I've attend ed up to now, I was able to receive insight in important initiatives that I can then apply in my Association: overall the quality of the networking is outstanding!
European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association

The AWC is for me an excellent reflection point to consider, among colleagues with different experiences, what you can do better, different or new. Definitely time and money well spent. Congratulations to the organizers for a great meeting.
