Hi,

I wish to express my sincere appreciation for your invaluable support and enthusiasm towards the INSME Annual Meeting in Berlin.

The 19th INSME Annual Meeting discussed the impact of Artificial Intelligence on SMEs with key panellists from around the globe, below you will find my three main take-aways:
  1. AI is simply a new tool that will serve SMEs and not ruin them, this period of disruption is both a challenge and an opportunity. SMEs, to leverage AI, should become data-driven and able to identify where the "human touch" is more valued.
  2. The impact of AI on workers will be massive, up to 60% of tasks will be  replaced, but humans always tried to leave tedious activities to machines and to focus on meaningful and creative tasks. This is part of the technological progress, and in the long term creative destruction spurs growth and prosperity.
  3. There is little global coordination around the world. Sustaining this General Technology Purpose (GTP) is an enormous job all the stakeholders need to be involved in: governments, large tech companies, SMEs, academia, associations. This is what INSME is committed to.
Thank you for your valuable contributions and for being a part of our collective mission. We look forward to building on the momentum generated during this meeting and working together to achieve even greater heights in the years ahead.
Best wishes,
Giovanni
