Dear Prof. Lorenzen,

Hope you’re doing great.

Druid was my first international conference as a PhD student. It was an amazing experience to say the least.

There were so many things to like about Druid. The PDW sessions resonated with me especially given that I had reviewed the literature on entrepreneurship for my comprehensive exams this summer. I found the keynote address by Prof. von Hippel quite interesting, and I could especially relate to the work presented by Prof. Valentina Tartari. I found the debates to be fun as well as informative. Lastly, the outdoor event at the fort was very memorable and quite a unique experience.

As for my paper, I got really good feedback from two different discussants, which has given me enough to think about and work on for the rest of summer. I hope to develop it further into my dissertation.

The opportunity to discuss three research papers was wonderful, and I learnt a lot myself while giving constructive feedback to the authors.

I would appreciate if there were more forums online/offline through which PhD students could connect with faculty members through the year. This is especially important given that my school is based out of Asia (India). I really look forward to associating with Druid and its activities in the years to come.

Thanks so much,

Yours sincerely,
