Dear Sir/Madam,

Ethics International Press is pleased to invite proposals for scholarly books and edited collections. If you are researching and writing in the humanities and social sciences, we would be delighted to hear from you. You can download a Book Proposal Form, and see our Notes of Guidance for Authorshere.

We aim to be broad in scope, inclusive, and welcoming of diverse voices and approaches. All proposals are independently peer reviewed. The books we select for publication are primarily aimed at scholarly researchers, teachers, and students, worldwide. We only publish in English, and make no charges to publish.

We take a deliberately broad approach to the topic of ethics. Ethical questions, considerations, and decisions can be said to underpin most areas of human endeavour. As examples, we have published books dealing with:

  • philosophical issues such as religion and faith, morality, and decision making
  • applied fields, such as bioethics, education, the built environment, data ethics, and ethical issues in business, economics, finance, and governance
  • current challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, food security, poverty, and technology/AI
  • discussions in arts, humanities and social science fields such as history, society and culture, community, gender, politics, and literature
  • legal and medical ethics, including psychology, counselling and childhood studies

If in doubt about scope, please ask.

We are also pleased to consider adapted Doctoral Theses, and Edited Collections, including adaptations from conferences and symposia.

Additionally, we have several Open Calls for Chapters in Edited Collections including Statistics, Critical Psychology and Psychiatry, and Social Science research in Africa, and a call for case studies from/relating to China. You can see more information on our Edited Collections, including our Calls for Chapters, here.

If you are interested in writing for us, please take a few minutes to view our website, where you can see our current and forthcoming titles, such as the following title:

In October 2022, we published the two companion textbooks, Ethical Practice of Statistics and Data Science, and Ethical Reasoning for a Data-Centered World, by Professor Rochelle Tractenberg, Georgetown University,  Washington D.C.

Filled with guidance notes and case studies, the two volumes are the first and only books to be based on, and to provide guidance to, the American Statistical Association (ASA) and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) ethical guideline documents.

The author served as vice chair and chair of the ASA Committee on Professional Ethics, and has chaired (2016, 2018) and co-chaired (2021) all of the working groups on revising the ASA Ethical Guidelines for Statistical Practice to date.
