INSME President at the 18th International Entrepreneurship Forum Conference
The 18th edition of the International Entrepreneurship Forum Conference has recently been held in Goa, India. From the 16th to the 18th of December researchers, policy makers and practitioners gathered to share ideas, explore opportunities and discuss trends on “Entrepreneurship as a Social Movement: Art, Technology, Design and Sustainable Entrepreneurial Transformation”.

Develop your IP strategy with "IP Booster"
The European Commission funds a service to provide specialised, professional IP advice to European Universities and Public Research Organisations (PROs): "IP Booster".
Through this service – which is free of charge - META Group (holding INSME vice-presindecy) and ClearViewIP will support universities and PROs to examine their research and will guide their team to identify the most suitable IP strategy of their organizations.

The Least Developed Countries Report 2019 by UNCTAD
The United Nations Conference on Development and Trade - UNCTAD (INSME Member) has recently released “The Least Developed Countries Report 2019”, a publication focused on the importance of sustainable development for the economies of the least developed countries (LDCs). Specifically, the report concentrates on development aid, in the context of the broader topic of international cooperation for development, structural transformation and sustainable development.

The European Investment Fund published “Angels Survey 2019 - Market sentiment, public intervention and EIF’s value added”
Based on a survey among Business Angels (BA) who benefitted from the European Angels Fund (EAF), the European Investment Fund – EIF (INSME Member) has recently released a study to share its results.
According to the survey results it is worth mentioning that:
- the total amount invested in BA activities ranges between € 1 million and € 8 millions...

Get Ready for Japan: a 2-week mission to Japan for European companies
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation invites European SMEs and start-ups interested in doing business in Japan to apply for “Get Ready for Japan”, a 2-week mission to:
- gain in-depth insight into the Japanese business environment;
- better understand Japanese partners/competitors;
- learn more about Japanese management practices.
The call is open to citizens from a EU Member State or COSME partnering country and only 14 participants will be selected to take part in a combination of lectures, case studies, role plays and company visits.
The EU-Japan Centre will cover all training expenses while participants will take care of their travel and accommodation costs.
The deadline to apply is the 13th of February 2020.

Call for SMEs adopting Blockchain and other Distributed Ledger Technologies
The European Crowdfunding Network and Blackpool.eu are looking for European SMEs that will adopt and deploy Blockchain and other Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) based solutions.
The call is open to companies in one of the following sectors: Financial & Insurance Services; Industrial Products, Agriculture & Manufacturing; Energy, Utilities & Raw Materials; Healthcare; Transport & Logistics; Government & Smart Cities; Retail, Consumer & Media; Social Good which will be:
- offered with 30,000 €;
- provided with a dedicated massive open online training course;
- called to participate in two out of three cross-border international bootcamps that will be organized in different locations in Brussels, Valencia, Frankfurt.
Interested companies can apply at this page by the 26th of February 2020.

ENRICH in the USA launches its first Entrepreneurial Skills Development Program
The Entrepreneurial Skills Development Program (ESDP) is an initiative launched by ENRICH (the European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs in the USA) and dedicated to European researchers to provide them with proper skills and technical trainings to enhance their research impact in the U.S.A.
The call is funded by the European Commission and will partially support 20 participants who will attend an intense programme from the 19th to the 24th of March 2020 in Philadelphia, U.S. which will include information sessions and technical trainings, a mentoring programme as well as the participation to American Chemical Society’s (ACS) National Spring Meeting offering mentoring opportunities.
Mid-career researchers, whose research has 1) a high innovation potential and 2) the possibility of commercializing in the US are invited to submit their application by the 31st of January 2020.

The Missing Entrepreneurs 2019. Policies for Inclusive Entrepreneurship
In the report “The Missing Entrepreneurs: Policies for Inclusive Entrepreneurship”, the OECD and the European Commission address the issue of business creation by people from under-represented and disadvantaged groups (e.g. women, youth, seniors, immigrants, unemployed), which are less likely to operate high-growth firms because they lack the skills, networks and access to finance needed for growth, highlighting that inclusive entrepreneurship policies must ensure equal opportunities for those with realistic potential, regardless of origin.

SMEs Growth Outlook 2019-20 by Enterprise Europe Network
Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) has released “SMEs Growth Outlook 2019-20”, a report presenting the results of a survey submitted to SMEs from the EU 28 countries that received advisory, innovation or partnership services from the EEN.
In particular the survey data on how SMEs expect to grow in terms of turnover, workforce, market share, prospects for international expansion and innovation.

EURADA Brokerage Event for Development Agencies

Since 2016 EURADA – the European Association of Development Agencies (INSME Member from Belgium) organizes the Brokerage Event for Innovation Agencies. A new edition will take place on the 30th January 2020 at EURADA premises in Brussels and will gather experts in the field of innovation with the aim the share best practices, build partnerships for current or future proposals, share knowledge and experiences.
Representatives from the European Commission will also attend the event to provide details about the configuration of the innovation framework for the ongoing (Horizon 2020) and the upcoming financial (Horizon Europe) periods.
