Dear Esteban I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Things are rather hectic here at the moment. We are still working on the invoice part in our system. It will be solved so that you can have an invoice for the reimbursement. I will let you know as soon as you can download it. Just in case, the document also includes a short bio of the organizers and speakers. I would be thankful if you acknowledge receipt of the file and confirm that everything is OK. In case you have any question, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you in Lisbon! Kind regards, PS: I have contacted Jeanette twice in the last 3 weeks asking about the invoice of the conference fee. I understand she's very busy right now with the organization of the conference, but it would be nice if she replies my emails (unfortunately, the receipt is not accepted by my university because it's not a legal document, and the university wants an official invoice for documentation purposes. This is an important issue because I paid the fee and the university will refund it once the invoice is delivered only). I of course know your work, and I also organized the DRUID15 conference in Rome, including your -- in my opinion highly succesful and entertaining -- DRUID Debate on enterpreneurship policy. I was happy to see its further development into the SBE article, which I have in fact used in my own teaching! Your upcoming book sounds exciting, and as the entrepreneurship ecosystem perspective is gaining quite some traction among the DRUID audience, I would much much have liked to include a plenary session based on the book in the program for the DRUID23 conference in Lisbon. However, I am afraid that the plenary program was finalized several months ago -- for a conference of this size and with a set of very specialized plenaries, we need to book our speakers well ahead. Since we will present almost 200 peer reviewed papers during the conference, it is logistically impossible to expand the number of plenaries, since this would squeeze out the time for parallel paper presentations. There is, of course, the option of presenting your session as a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) on the morning of the first conference day. Designed as something in between a plenary and a paper session, these workshops last 2.5 hours and can accomodate up to 75 people, and it seems that the content you envision would fit the PDW format quite well. They are advertised prominently in the conference program. Please let me know what you think. At any rate, since DRUID gets an increasing number of paper submissions on the entrepreneurship ecosystems perspective, it would be excellent to have you at the conference. Få mere at vide om, hvorfor dette er vigtigt<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification> Dear Mark (if I may), My name is Zoltan Acs from George Mason University in Washington DC. I visited Copenhagen Business School last fall. I have a new book coming out in entrepreneurial ecosystems, The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: A Global Perspective, to be published by Pelgrave this Spring. I was part of a Druid session in Rome several years ago that was very well received and published in Small Business Economics. I would like to organize a session around the book that was coauthored with Szerb Laszlo from the university of Pecs and Esteban Lafuente from Barcellona tech. I envision a session with two presentations, one by me and another one by Esteban. Jose Mata has agreed to participate as has Angelo Cavallo from the Politecnico di Milano. He has written a review article on entrepreneurial ecosystems in 2019, "Entrepreneurial ecosystem research: present debates and future directions," International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal. I enclose an outline of the book. The topic is of relevance both for business and reginal policy debates. I enclose an endorsement for the book by David Audretsch: "Entrepreneurial ecosystems, while having emerged as one of the most prominent policies for entrepreneurship and economic development, have confounded thought leaders in business and policy as well as the scholarly research community. No more. This pathbreaking new book offers the unequivocal analysis and framework explicitly clarifying what an entrepreneurial ecosystem is, can do and how best to create and sustain one. The book pulls together the top thinkers in the field to pave new ground on how and why no region can afford to ignore the power of entrepreneurial ecosystems, just as no researcher concerned with entrepreneurship, economic development and regional prosperity should ignore them." I know this is a little late but it is all ready now. Thank you for your consideration. Zoltan Acs University Professor
