Hello Jeanette

Welcome to your fortnightly eBulletin. This week we include info on the forthcoming Association Leaders Symposium, newly released Video Talks, Partner Updates, Job Vacancies and Masterclasses.

Association Leaders Symposium, 6-7 December

The Association Leaders Symposium (online) is where the Executive Director and their Chair / President can define annual priorities and work better together, addressing:

  • Building a culture of shared understanding and commitment
  • Evaluating working styles and leadership strengths through assessment
  • Establishing a common understanding of roles, responsibilities, and relationships
  • Evaluating critical components of successful leadership, governance, and strategy
  • Identifying essential questions to ask about your association's digital transformation model
  • Outlining governance relationships between association board and staff members
  • Identifying current and anticipated trends facing leaders of contemporary associations
  • Employing the value of research and strategy in knowledge-based decision making
  • Applying successful practices and models to strategic planning and thinking

The two-half-days online programme offers insight into challenges facing contemporary association leaders and highlights the value of informed policy and strategy as primary leadership team tools. The result is a shared understanding and commitment to the critical components of successful governance, strategy, and organisation.

With unparalleled expertise and a proven track record presenting & facilitating these sessions and content internationally for over 25 years in the United States and 20 years in Canada, faculty from Tecker International will deliver valuable insights for immediate application to the realities of your association. What's New, Better and Different

We are being asked by the membership for information on what new and different services are available to associations. We have put together a programme to keep you informed on "What's New, Better or Different" - look out for a fornightly update starting later this month.

Talks (Members only)
Lean Running Mode for Brand Improvement and Reducing Member Fees
Never wasting the opportunity of a crisis, the BCA adopted a 'lean running mode’ during COVID-19 which improved their brand and enabled reducing member fees.
Working effectively with the board and reducing the stress
In professional societies the staff are often obliged to "take orders" from the board who mostly are professionals in their field, but not experts in society management. It's important that there is minimal friction and lots of understanding.
Flexible focused sponsorship to protect revenue
With the change in events over the last 18 months, and more change to come, you need to pro-actively structure your sponsorship offering so that it can both cope with the "online-onsite" and other uncertainties and, importantly, take advantage of the potential to build stronger targeted sponsor outcomes.
The Future of Learning and Development
The landscape has changed, and content alone is no longer sufficient. Whilst accessibility of content was a primary goal for many memberships bodies and associations, it is the contextualising of this content that matters. We are witnessing the humanification of digital content, and a move away from 'the conspiracy of convenience'.

How the Royal Microscopical Society delivered a successful virtual event using ReadyMembership
Virtual and hybrid events have become the norm over the last 18 months and many organisations have had to reimagine once real life and complex multi-day conferences as engaging online experiences.
RISE Conference returns to Hong Kong for five consecutive years
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Web Summit announced that RISE, "one of the world's most influential tech events", will return to Hong Kong in March 2022.
