Dear Mark, Thank you for your understanding and kind words. I appreciate your offer to still receive the early bird fee even if I register after the deadline of May 5. I will keep that in mind. I have also noted the cancellation policy and refund dates mentioned on the conference website. Thank you for the information. Thanks and regards, Jay Prakash On Fri, Apr 28, 2023 at 7:39 PM Mark Lorenzen <ml.si@cbs.dk> wrote:
Dear Jay
I am sorry to hear you have issues with the visa. We hope for the best!
Registration is open right up to the conference, and we can arrange for you to still recieve the early bird fee even if you register after the deadline May 5 (just mail us first if you register late, to avoid being charged the full fee).
What we cannot change, I am afraid, is the rule that your paper will be removed from the program if neither you or your co-authors have registered by May 5. We match papers in parallel sessions carefully and assign specialized discussants for them, so we need to know by May 5 exactly what papers will be presented at the conference.
We give a partial refund of the conference fee until June 1, but after that date, we cannot give a refund. This is because at that time, we have incurred the cost of catering, social events, and printing and we cannot recouperate them. You can see DRUID's cancellation policy and refund dates on the conference web site under TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
All best Mark

Du får ikke ofte mails fra j.prakashnagar@gmail.com. Få mere at vide om, hvorfor dette er vigtigt <https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification> Dear Mark Lorenzen,
Thank you for accepting my paper (Paper ID: 69759, Paper title: "Is European Research Council science conducive to inventive activity?") for the parallel paper session at the upcoming DRUID conference. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to present my research at this prestigious event.
As an early-stage researcher at Bocconi University, I regret to inform you that my Permesso di soggiorno (Italian Residence Permit) has expired and I have applied for its renewal, which typically takes 4-6 months.* Unfortunately, according to Italian government guidelines, I am not permitted to travel to other Schengen countries during this period. While I am hopeful to receive my Permesso di soggiorno by June, there is no certainty. In exceptional circumstances, the Italian government can grant a temporary travel permit, but this is solely at the discretion of police officers.*
Given my circumstances, I would like to request some relaxation on the conference fee payment. Additionally, I would like to know if it is possible to receive a refund on the conference fees in the event that I am not allowed to travel by the authorities. I would greatly appreciate it if you could inform me whether any relaxation is available due to exceptional circumstances.
Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to your response.
Best regards, Jay Prakash Nagar
