The decision has been made according to the criteria stated in the call for papers, i.e. novelty, academic quality and the proposed paper's relation to industrial dynamics in general and to the themes of the conference in particular. All papers have been reviewed anonymously by at least three reviewers working independently of each other. Due to high interest in this year's conference, decision-making has been very difficult and our criteria have been applied very strictly. We regret to inform you that your paper has not been accepted for presentation at the conference. As stated in the call and during the submission process no review or comments will be offered to the author or authors to supplement the decision. However, you are encouraged to register for DRUID23 -- a rewarding experience both intellectually and socially. Please see the plenary conference program, available on the conference website. We acknowledge that many scholars interested in attending the conference can only get their participation funded if they present a paper during the conference. In order to faciliate this process we are considering launching two Special Paper Sessions on June 11 pending on sufficient interest. Novel ideas not yet recognized by established reviewers will get attention of the audience in such a session. The session will be organized in tracks and rooms allocated. Presenters will receive a certification of participation in the conference with the name of the author and paper title, much the same as all other presenters, but papers for a Special Paper Session will not be available on the conference website or in the formal conference program and no chair or discussant will be appointed by the conference organizers. If you wish us to consider organizing such an option, please a) register for the conference and pay the conference fee and b) return this email to us, stating "Special Paper Session" in the subject field of the mail. If you have sent this email to us we will notify you before May 20 if there has been shown sufficient interest to make us organize these Special Paper Sessions. A few practicalities regarding registration and participation to the conference: Registration can be accessed by clicking “Registration” on the right hand of the screen after logon. DRUID offers DRUID DISCOVERIES, a suite of excursions on June 11 making the most of Lisbon. Read more under "Practical" on the conference webpage's top blue banner. These excursions will shortly be available for registration and payment from the registration page (deadline June 10). Dear all, Thank you so much for the great news! Being extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to present at DRUID 2023, I am afraid that I am going to need respectfully withdraw my paper (ID 69729) from the program. Unfortunately, in the midst of major revitalization of my department, I was very recently assigned to lead MSc examinations which take place during these days. Although I am beyond sad to be doing this, there is nothing I can possibly do about it. Honestly, I do not take it lightly. It is a very difficult decision for me to make, attending DRUID physically has been a small dream of mine for a while now. I was not at all expecting to be in this position at the time of submission. Next year, hopefully already as a junior faculty member, I will make sure to advertise my unavailability with emphasis, so I can attend DRUID 2024 without any problems. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by my withdrawal and cannot wait to finally join the community in 2024. Thank you very much for your understanding. Coauthored papers may be presented by any of the participating coauthors. The basic format of parallel paper sessions is as follows. Each session normally include three papers and lasts about one and a half hours. The standard time schedule looks like this: First paper presentation by the author = 15 minutes Second paper presentation by the author = 15 minutes Third paper presentation by the author = 15 minutes First discussant of all three papers = 12 minutes Second discussant of all three papers = 12 minutes General discussion and replies from the authors = approximately 20 minutes. Computer projectors will be available for PowerPoint presentations. Please bring your presentation on a USB memory device. With a conference of this size, we ask you to remember some basic rules when making your presentation. In order that everyone has sufficient time to speak it is important that you exercise discipline, particularly time management. Structure your presentation so that you have time for your findings and their possible implications (when relevant). Avoid or explain uncommon abbreviations or terms. - The chair will tell you at the beginning of the session how long your presentation can last. This will inevitably vary between sessions depending on the number of papers to be presented. In a one and a half hour session with three papers, you should aim to speak for no more than 15 minutes leaving time for your discussants and for the floor. - We have asked session chairs to be very strict in terms of time management so that each presenter has an equal amount of time. - During your presentation the session chair will pass you three cards indicating that your time allocation is coming to an end. - Five minutes presentation time remaining. - Two minutes presentation time remaining. - If you are shown the RED card this means your time is over.
